Terms of Service
Terms of Use and Licence Agreement for Helgio.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, installing the browser extension, using the Service, using free translation limits, converting a document, using YouTube subtitle features, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms.
2. Description of the Service
Helgio allows users to select or click words, short phrases, contextual sentences, document fragments and supported video subtitles, receive contextual translations, save selected vocabulary, generate learning cards, and practise saved vocabulary.
The Service is intended for personal, educational and internal business language-learning use. It is not designed for certified translation, professional advice, bulk content extraction, mass subtitle harvesting, or permanent archiving of third-party content.
3. Account and login
Users register and log in with an email address. One account is linked to one email address and is intended for one user unless Mintech expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
4. Free translation limits before paid subscription
Mintech may allow up to 20 contextual translation or one-click saving requests before registration, subject to technical and anti-abuse limits.
After registration, Mintech may provide 100 additional contextual translation or one-click saving requests before a paid subscription is required.
Paid access starts only after the user separately confirms purchase of a subscription through an available payment method.
5. Subscription and paid features
A Helgio subscription provides access to contextual translation and one-click vocabulary saving from supported websites, supported documents, and supported YouTube subtitles, including automatic card generation and saving contextual examples, subject to fair-use limits and technical availability.
If a subscription ends, the user may continue to access saved vocabulary and cards, practise saved cards, edit saved cards and add words manually, subject to technical availability and these Terms.
6. User content and learning data
You retain any rights you may have in the vocabulary lists, selected words, phrases, contextual examples, uploaded documents, document fragments, card sets and other content that you create, upload, convert or save through the Service.
7. Third-party services
Translations may be provided using DeepL, Google Translate and/or other third-party translation providers. Card generation and other smart features may use OpenAI, Google and other processors or service providers.
Document conversion may be provided using Convertio and/or other third-party file-conversion providers.
8. YouTube subtitle support
Helgio is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by YouTube or Google. YouTube subtitle support is intended for personal language learning and must not be used to download, archive, scrape, bulk extract or redistribute subtitles or transcripts.
9. Fair use and prohibited use
The Service is subject to fair-use limits. Unless a different limit is stated in your plan, the maximum allowed usage is 200 translation, document-conversion or card-generation requests per account per calendar day.
You must not automate requests, scrape, crawl, harvest, bulk translate, bulk convert, reverse engineer, resell, bypass payment, abuse free access, or use the Service to violate law, third-party rights, platform policies or website terms.
10. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription using the cancellation button in the extension, account area or the relevant payment-provider interface. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless applicable law requires otherwise.
11. Availability and liability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Mintech does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free translations, successful document conversions, or continuous compatibility with all websites, documents, browsers, YouTube or third-party APIs.
